DUDE! Blogging is SO much work
Posted by: justiceserved in Court Management, Personal, The Future
I have SO been channeling the Jeff Spicoli character from Fast Times at Ridgemont High lately. Sean Penn played this surfer slacker mook to a T and I guess my absence from authoring blog postings of late qualifies me for the Spicoli Award.
First, many thanks to Tom Sandbach, Esq. for serving as guest author in his terrific four-part series exploring the PACER online records system used by the US federal courts. This has been a bumpy ride that deserved an in-depth examination and Tom did a great job on it. He plans to do a few follow-ups on the topic, so keep your RSS Readers peeled.
As for what I have been doing in my copious spare time, I wish I could tell you it was a well deserved vacation, or a long planned sabbatical to get back in touch with my inner child. The truth is, I have been working on several projects and gearing up for and recovering from the effects of the Court Technology Conference in Denver last month.
So what’s in store in the near future for Serving Justice blog readers? Patience, my children, patience. Here is what is cooking in my fertile brain and will pop out of my cranium when each is fully cooked …
- Wrap-up of FACT 25th Anniversary activities this year
- Using technology to weather the financial storm
- Imaging vs document management vs content management
- Essential Components core competency course development
- Court reporter and electronic recording wars – is it time for a truce?
And much more …
Meanwhile, I am back on the road for the next two weeks, but will faithfully chain myself to my blog writing duties.
CLASSIC LINE FROM FAST TIMES … [Spicoli, talking on the phone, hits his head with a shoe]: “That was my skull! I’m so wasted!”
